Former Indian Team skipper Sourav Ganguly has been named as the
captain and mentor of Pune Warriors India in the fifth season of IPL
2012, which begins from April 4 to May 27.
Sahara chief Subroto Roy confirmed it in a press release on Thursday that Ganguly will be the mentor-cum-captain of Pune Warriors India for IPL 2012.
He hoped that the former Indian captain's experience, expertise and deep understanding of the game will definitely lead the team to the top level in this season. He said that Ganguly was appointed as the captain of the team in absence of the Yuvraj Singh, who is currently undergoing treatment in the US.
Former South African pacer Allan Donald will be the team’s bowling mentor. While Praveen Amre will coach the batsmen, Pady Upton is the mental and high performance coach of the team.
